Content Management in Communities is a powerful feature that enables group admins and members to create, manage, and engage with posts and channels. With diverse capabilities, from embedding videos to managing comments and likes, this feature empowers robust and dynamic interactions within the community. What is featured in Content Management?

Content Management in Communities encompasses several components facilitating a dynamic and engaging community environment. These include:

  • Group Channels: These are thematic or topic-based categories within a community group that aid in organizing discussions and facilitating relevant conversations. Admins have the exclusive privilege to create these channels.

  • Posts: These are the main form of content within a group. Members can create rich posts associated with a specific channel. Posts can include various types of content, such as text, images, videos, and other attachments.

  • Home Timeline: This centralized hub displays posts from all members across all channels within the group. It provides a comprehensive overview of the group's activities.

  • Embedding Videos: Posts in the community can host videos from various platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, and Loom.

  • Attachments: Posts support various file formats such as images, GIFs, and other media.

  • Comments and Likes: These serve as key drivers for engagement. Members can comment on posts, include content in their comments, and express appreciation through likes.

  • Post Deletion: Admins and moderators can delete any posts that violate community guidelines. Members also have the right to delete their own posts and comments.

How to Manage Content in Communities?

Creating Group Channels

Multiple channels are available within each group to categorize discussions.

Only admins have the privilege to create these channels.

  • Locate and click the "Add Channel" button in the group interface's left bar.

  • A modal window will appear prompting you for details:

Channel Name: (e.g., "Marketing Reports") Keep this brief (limit 15 characters).

Channel Description: (e.g., "A space for dialogue...") A brief summary of the topic (limit 60 characters).

Channel Icon: Select a distinctive icon to visually symbolize your channel.

  1. Click Create Channel to finish.

How to Create a Post

Members can create rich posts associated with a specific channel.

  1. Navigate to the desired channel within the group.

  2. Post Title: Provide a concise yet descriptive headline.

  3. Post Body: Write your main content here (announcements, questions, or discussion starters).

Enhancing your Post:

  • Add Image: Upload SVG, PNG, JPG, or GIF formats (max 800x400px) by clicking the upload button or dragging and dropping.

  • Add Video: Upload an MP4 video file directly.

    • Embed Youtube or Loom Video:

      • Get the public share link from YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, or Loom.

      • Click the video icon at the bottom of the post-creation interface.

      • Paste the link and click Add Link.

  • Add Attachment: Upload PDFs, CSVs, or XLSX files.

  • Add Link: Highlight your text, click the link icon, and paste your URL to hyperlink text.

  • Add Emoji: Use the emoji library to make your post expressive.

Channel Dropdown

You can choose which Group Channel you want to post in and create a new Group Channel when adding a new post.

Publish Post

Once you have finalized the content of your post, click on the "Publish Post" button to publish it


Home Timeline

To get a comprehensive overview of what is happening inside your group, navigate to the Home Timeline. It is the designated space where you can view posts from all members across all channels in one convenient location.

Comments and Likes

Comments and likes are crucial for driving engagement.

  • To Comment: Open a post and use the comment section. You can attach images, videos, and links to comments as well.

  • To Like: Hit the thumbs-up icon on any Post or Comment to show appreciation.

Deleting a Post

Admins and moderators can delete posts that violate terms. Members can delete their own content.

  1. Locate the post.

  2. Click the three dots icon on the right side of the post.

  3. Select "Delete Post".

Q: How many images can I attach to a single post?

A: You can attach as many images as you like. However, we recommend limiting the number to ensure optimal loading times and readability.

Q: Can I change the title of my post after it has been published?

A: Yes. Go to the post, click the three dots icon, select 'Edit Post', and modify the title.

Q: What is the maximum size for video files that I can upload?

A: While official limits may be defined later, we recommend keeping video files below 100MB for optimal performance.

Q: What happens when I add a hyperlink to my post?

A: Users can click the linked text to be taken directly to the URL, allowing you to provide resources without cluttering the post.

Q: Can I use emojis in my post title?

A: Yes! Just ensure they enhance readability and fit the context of your audience.
